A healing space for women and femmes to connect through rhythm.

Come learn Brazilian drumming in a supportive space with Lorin Hansen, a Samba dancer and percussionist with over 25 years of experience studying, teaching and performing Brazilian percussion. Drums of focus will include Surdo, Caixa, Repique, Tamborim, Agogo, Timbal, and Pandeiro.

Adriana will also be available for private lessons, scheduled at your convenience and priced at $90 per hour.

A Brazilian percussionist from Bahia, Adriana Portela was the first woman to conduct an all-female samba-reggae band in Brazil, Didá Banda Feminina. 

A Percussionist and drummer of the Didá Band, Adriana has played with several celebrities of the Brazilian and international musical genres such as: Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa, Simone, Elza Soares, Carlinhos Brown, Shakira, Daniela Mercury, Margareth Menezes, Milton Nascimento, and Vanessa da Mata.

Adriana has traveled to various countries: France, USA, Argentina, Uruguay, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Spain, and Canada while teaching her percussive musical work.

Adriana has a degree in Social Work, postgraduate in Social Project Management, and Master's Student in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Bahia. Adriana has always seen music as the driving force of large living constructions and also as a tool capable of crossing boundaries, enabling the knowledge of diverse cultures.
