Children’s Brazilian Drum and Dance Summer Camp

Samba Camp is a unique summer camp that gives children an opportunity to experience the joy of Brazilian drumming, dance, song and folklore, as they put together a final performance for friends and family.

Samba Camp July 9-13 | Ages 5-9

9 am – Noon

Culminating performance for friends and family on Friday, July 13, 11:00am

 

Samba Camp is a unique Summer arts camp facilitated by local drum and dance company, Samba Fogo. Students will engage in Brazilian drumming, dance, song, craft-making and folklore, as they put together a culminating performance for friends and family on the final day of the camp. Authentic Brazilian samba drums are supplied by Samba Fogo, and students get a free Samba Fogo T-shirt to take home!

 

Students should bring a water bottle and a snack each day, and wear clothing they can move in freely. The camp will be held inside Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum, and students will have the opportunity to explore the museum as part of this unique, cultural drum and dance camp.

 

Samba Camp is supported by the Salt Lake City Arts Council and the Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts & Parks program.
