Nothing but love for this amazing Samba Community we have
What a fun-loving, ecstatic and supportive community Salt Lake City has. 2015’s Samba Queen was a huge success and each of you played a role in that great evening. We loved dancing, singing and celebrating with you all night!
Congratulations to Joana Galdino our Rainha do Samba, Mallory Howard, our Samba Princesa and Sara Caldiero-Oertli, our Passista Especial!
Salt Lake Magazine was in attendance and captured some great photos, you can check them out here, but our dear friend and highly talented professional photographer, David Terry spent all day creating ideal set-ups for his gorgeous shots which you can and should purchase as prints at his website. Tin Angel and Squatters kept the drinks flowing and Black’s Sliders kept the hungry crowd satisfied. We also want to thank Utah Brewers Cooperative, Tony Caputo’s Italian Market & Deli, One Mind Studio, Utah Brazilian Festival, Tucanos Brazilian Grill, Scott Morison LMT, Katie McGough LMT, Urban Retreat Spa & Salon, Paul Chance & Soluna Salon, Quinn Reesor, and Salt Lake Capoeira for their support of Samba Queen 2015!
Of course, a huge thank you to our generous host, DF Dance Studio. Check this studio out for dance classes year-round, we couldn’t have chosen a better venue to shake it at.
Nicole Razon, you are the world’s greatest MC, many thanks!
The Bateria, singers and guitarists, you literally killed it for about 4 hours straight, thank you, thank you, thank you!
Big shoutout to our guest Samba Master and judge, Danielle Lima. Danielle flew in from New York, taught some incredible classes leading up to the event, participated as a judge and eventually jumped up on stage to perform for us. So amazing!
Most importantly, the contestants! So many talented and beautiful performers. You obviously put the amazing factor in this event every year.
