Samba Fogo schedules arts residencies and guest classes in various schools and programs throughout the year. Residencies can feature Brazilian and Afro-Brazilian drumming, dance, song, and/or creative movement, depending on the interest and budget of each school. Many residencies culminate in a final student performance. Please CONTACT US to inquire about educational outreach options and rates.
By integrating hands-on cultural arts with curriculum, students learn through research-based teaching practices that address diverse learning styles and nurture creativity.
Students develop personal, social and intellectual skills while they learn to work and “play” together in an ensemble. Students learn to cooperate and achieve success as one.
Students connect more fully to their classmates as they engage with exciting cultural content and gain a global perspective.

Samba Camp is a unique summer arts camp where students will engage in Brazilian drumming, dance, song, craft-making and folklore, as they put together a culminating performance for friends and family on the final day of the camp. Authentic Brazilian samba drums are supplied by Samba Fogo, and students get a free Samba Fogo T-shirt to take home!
Students should bring a water bottle and a snack each day, and wear clothing they can move in freely. The camp will be held inside Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum, and students will have the opportunity to explore the museum as part of this unique, cultural drum and dance camp.
Samba Camp is supported by the Salt Lake City Arts Council and the Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts & Parks program.
